Buying a new ice cube machine for the hospitality industry is not always easy. How large should the unit be? Is an air-cooled or a water-cooled machine best? How does an ice cube machine work?
Perhaps first a brief explanation of how an ice cube machine works. It starts with filtering the water for clean and clear ice. At the same time, a compressor presses refrigerant through the unit. A condenser changes the refrigerant from a liquid to an ice-cold gas. Through an evaporator, this gas is conducted over the water — which is in a mold — causing the water to freeze. The mold is then briefly heated to release the ice.

That is possible. We do not offer this as a standard service, but we can perform it on request. For larger machines without an internal storage hopper, you will see this option on the product page. Machines with an internal storage hopper do not show this option. Machines with an internal hopper are easy to install. In most cases, it only involves connecting the water supply hose and the water drain hose and plugging the power cable into the outlet.
A good rule of thumb is to multiply the number of covers/guests you expect to serve in a day by 0.3. The average usage per guest is often 0.3 kg of ice. Of course, this can vary by situation, since not every guest will use ice. In some cases, consumption may also exceed the average.
Installing an ice cube machine built-in is possible in some cases, even for air-cooled machines. This is indicated on the product page. If you are unsure whether a machine can be installed built-in, please feel free to contact our customer service.
Yes, that is possible. We do not have all ice cube machines in our showroom in Utrecht, but there is always a selection you can come and view.
